About

Dr. O’Connor joined CHRISTUS Children's in March 2022 to start an adolescent bariatric surgery program. She is married with two children and two dogs. Most recently, Dr. O’Connor practiced at Ann & Robert Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago and prior to that she was in practice in Tucson, Arizona for nine years.

She received her medical degree from Rush University in Chicago, completed a general surgery residency at Medical College of Wisconsin and pediatric surgery fellowship at The Ohio State University/Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery and pediatric surgery. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine.

Her special interests include bariatric medicine, bariatric surgery, and robotic surgery.

In her spare time, Dr. O’Connor enjoys baking, cooking and feeding her family and friends. Other hobbies include CrossFit workouts and reading anything she can get her hands on. She is a super fan of the Chicago Blackhawks Hockey team and watches ice hockey every chance she gets.

She performs general and thoracic surgery at CHRISTUS Children's.
