Green Hat Taste of Southwest Louisiana Returns to Bring Fun, Flavorful Experiences to Top Lake Charles Dining Spots

Tickets for Green Hat Taste of SWLA can be purchased today and used for experiences throughout March

Lake Charles, Louisiana - CHRISTUS Ochsner Southwestern Louisiana Foundation kicked off the annual Green Hat Taste of SWLA Wednesday, an experience full of flavor and fun. The tasty, self-guided tour of local restaurants lasts throughout March and, as in years past, offers participants the leisure to make these fun stops at their own pace to enjoy festive food and local flare-all while raising money for a good cause.

“Green Hat is an annual, community-focused event that provides St. Patrick’s Day fun all month long,” said Cheyanna Glyenn, Children’s Miracle Network and Event Director, CHRISTUS Ochsner Southwestern Louisiana Foundation. “We want everyone to get a taste of what Lake Charles has to offer and to raise money that stays here locally to make a difference in our community.”

The Green Hat Taste of SWLA runs March 1-31 and benefits CHRISTUS Ochsner Health SWLA’s Access to Care Innovation Fund, which is focused on providing state-of-the-art medical technology to serve our community.

“The Green Hat experience has become a beloved community tradition that brings everyone together to experience and support local restaurants that have partnered with us,” said Patricia Prudhomme, Executive Director of Development, CHRISTUS Ochsner Southwestern Louisiana Foundation. “The proceeds from this event are important to current and future projects, specifically what we provide as a resource for new technology and equipment to ensure our patients receive the most excellent, innovative care.”

Registration is $50 and includes a Green Hat Commemorative T-shirt and tickets for complimentary small bites and/or drinks at this year’s participating restaurants:

Participants are encouraged to don a green hat and dress in festive attire while hitting the restaurant stops. During each visit, participants can redeem a ticket for something tasty.
